Rainbow Catering is locally owned and operated right here in
the Pacific Northwest. Born and raised in Seattle, chef and owner
Steve Yip graduated from the culinary arts school at Seattle Central
Community College. He has been in the food industry for over 20
years and has worked in some of the area’s finest restaurants
including Elliott’s Oyster House, Alki Bakery & Café,
Harbor Club, The Butcher, Latitude 47, and Maribou. Now with his
own catering company he brings his experience and dedication to
fine cuisine to you. You can have a taste of a wide range of wonderful
flavors from around the world with his knowledge of ethnic, regional,
Pan-Asian, and local cuisine.
Steve is also a member of the Western BBQ Association and the
Pacific Northwest BBQ Association. He competes regularly in the
Northwest BBQ circuit. Some of his accomplishments are 2003 Grand
Champion at the P.I. Low and Slow BBQ competition, 2005 Grand
Champion at the Pike Place Market BBQ competition, several Reserve
Grand Championships including the 2005 BC Championships as well
as quite a few first place ribbons and titles in other competitions.
Along with his wife, Jackie, they strive to bring you quality
food at competitive prices. We believe in exceptional customer
service with a warm, friendly touch. We can cater small events
of 10-20 people or up to larger groups of over five hundred. We
have extensive experience in catering a variety of events including
wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, private parties, corporate
